About Our Piercings
- Single Use Set Ups.
All our piercings are done using single use equipment which has been sterilised to the highest possible standards using a Sci-Scan Statim G4 2000 Autoclave.
By doing this you can be sure that anything that is touching you hasn't touched anybody else, ever!
- Aseptic Technique.
We use aseptic technique when doing our body piercings to ensure we keep you as free from micro-organisms as possible to prevent the risk of infection.
This means everything that touches you will be sterile, from the gloves to the needle.
- Needle Blades.
We only use the sharpest, best quality needle blades for our piercings. We use Sharpass needles made by Industrial Strength LLC in the USA who are known for their quality.
By using the best needles we ensure the smoothest most comfortable piercing possible.
- Gentle Freehand Techniques.
We do the majority of body piercings without clamps and tools. This means there is less trauma and discomfort caused during the piercing process.
- Materials Used.
We only use the highest quality body jewellery for our piercings.
The materials we offer are;
ASTM F136 Titanium (this is the material used in medical implants),
14k & 18k Solid Nickel Free Gold (White, Rose & Yellow),
All of these materials are perfectly safe to wear in the human body.
- Surface Finish.
All our jewellery is hand polished to a mirror finish. This ensures that there are minimal inconsitancies in the surface that can harbour bacteria and irritate the wound.
- Precious Metals, Gems, Stones & Swarovski Zirconia available.
We offer some of the finest body jewellery in the world so we can offer you pieces in solid gold, platinum, black rhodium plated gold, and more.
As well as that we can offer genuine gemstones such as diamonds and sapphires, semi-precious stones such as amethyst and moonstone, real and synthetic opals and Swarovski zirconia.
We stock jewellery from the best brands in the world including;
- Custom Options.
We can get ANYTHING you want. If you have an idea, we can generally get it made. If you want a different stone combo in one of our clusters, we can get it! Don't be afraid to come in with your ideas.
Here at Broad Street Studio we don't have a set price list for our piercings, this is because we offer so many jewellery options that can be worn from day 1.
The way our pricing works is Piercing Fee + Jewellery.
By doing this it means you get to pick exactly what jewellery you want to wear and enjoy it right from the start.
If you'd like a bit more information on price ranges then please give Mike a call at the studio on 01225 329825 or even better, pop by and have a chat in person, this way we can show you all the options available.
Piercing aftercare shouldn't be complicated. Your body is a wonderful
thing and is ready to take care of your piercing with minimal help.
Here's our quick and easy cleaning routine.
Step one : Wash your hands thoroughly.
Step two : Spray the entry and exit point of your piercing with sterile, isotonic saline wound wash.
Step three : Wipe away any dry matter using sterile, non-woven gauze soaked in the wound wash.
Step four : Dab your piercing dry with a clean piece of sterile, non-woven gauze.
Do this two to three times a day along with a hot shower once a day to remove any stubborn dry matter.
Oral Piercing Aftercare.
Oral piercings are just as simple, the best thing for any piercings inside the mouth is to have great oral hygiene. Brush your teeth twice a day with a non-whitening toothpaste, floss, and rinse with a non-alcoholic mouthwash.
Tricks & Tips
Here's some things that will definitely improve the healing of your new piercing.
Fresh piercings can be uncomforatble and swell, especially oral piercings so ice or iced drinks can help reduce this.
Having a good immune system is key to a happy piercing so eat well, sleep well and drink plenty of water.
Don't Sleep On It
Sleeping on a fresh piercing can cause problems with new piercings so please avoid this. Travel pillows can help make this easier.
We don't recommend any harsh cleaning products like peroxide, TCP, surgical spirit or tee tree oil so please avoid these.
Also make sure you rinse off any shampoos, conditioners and body washes thoroughly.
We'd strongly advise against swimming or submerging your new piercing in water. We recommend at least 2 months.
If you do end up swimming after that please shower and rinse with sterile saline as soon as you get out.
Most importantly DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING.
So no twisting or turning. Just leave it alone and it'll be fine.
- How Does Laser Removal Work?
The laser fires an intense, short pulse of light through the skin and into the tattoo pigment which then heats up causing the tattoo particles to expand and shatter into smaller fragments.
These fragments are then small enough for the body's own immune system to flush away.
- Does Laser Removal Hurt??
Most people would describe it as similar to being flicked with an elastic band or pricked with a pin. It's uncomfortable, but bearable and the discomfort will be quickly alleviated with the aid of ice packs and Aloe vera gel.
- Does Laser Removal Cause Any Side Effects??
The treatment doesn't leave any scarring to the skin as it only effects the tattoo pigment.
It can however leave the area red, swollen and tender for a couple of days.
Other side effects include blistering, pin bleeding, hypopigmentation (slight lightening of the skin) and hyperpigmentation (slight darkening of the skin) although these are rare.
- How Much Does Laser Removal Cost?
The price is dependant on the size of the tattoo and the desired results.
We start at just £45 per session or we can offer you a one off fee for your tattoo which will cover you until the end of your treatment.
- How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
This is totally dependant on what results you desire.
For complete removal you could be looking at 10 + treatments.
However, for a major reduction (usually for cover up purposes) you may only be looking at 2-8 treatments.
Treatments are spaced roughly 6-8 weeks apart.
Sadly these are just estimates and we can't guarentee how many treatments you'll need.
- What Results Am I Likely To Experience?
The likely results are a massive reduction of the visibilty of your tattoo, especially on darker colours (blacks and dark blues) and reds.
Some colours are harder to remove such as greens and browns.
Sadly we can't guarentee the results, especially complete removal as it depends largely on your body.
- What Aftercare Do You Recommend??
We recommend a soothing aloe vera gel for the first 3-4 days followed by a sensative moisturiser for the next week.
The aloe vera will sooth any blistering or tenderness immediately after the treatment and the moisturiser will help stop the skin becoming dry afterwards.
